THE PLOT

After years of hostile tension, the cold stalemate achieved by the X-Men has been shattered by an all-out act of war. On New Year’s Day, a shadow branch of the increasingly powerful MRD launched a full-scale, brutal attack on the mutant nation of Genosha, leaving behind a path of destruction and political chaos in its wake. Now Genosha is no more, and all progress that had been made toward peace between mutants and humankind has been lost.

As the whole world demands answers, the U.S. government and the MRD alike have begun pointing fingers trying to absolve themselves of blame, all the while leaving those affected by the genocide in Genosha at a loss, barred from justice and uncertain of what their futures might hold.

With Genosha’s citizens scattered across the globe and the X-Men struggling to regroup, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been called in to investigate the attack and to keep the peace between mutants and non-mutants, but there is only so much one organization can do.

Now, with only a cryptic message from their deceased leader to go off of and years of resentment coming to surface, it falls to the rifted X-Men to once again unite and protect the last living part of Xavier: his dream of peace between mutants and mankind.

However, in these darkening, perilous times, that dream is becoming more fragile than ever.

Plot Updates

CURRENT TIMELINE: JULY 2014 - OCTOBER 2014
The Devil's Night microplot continues. With the dramatic appearance of the Brotherhood, we learn that this is no ordinary riot.

PREVIOUSLY
Before a verdict could be reached in the monumental UN trial against Dr. James Manette, the accused met a violent and suspicious death.

Now, the headmistress of the Xavier Institute has come under suspicion for his murder, leaving the X-men warding off a media backlash as the MRD regroups.

General Rules

General common courtesy stuff. No Godmoding or Powerplaying; be respectful, out of character and in; and if you have issues, please contact an admin.

You must be over 16 years of age to join. Mature events such as sex and extreme violence are not discouraged, but require warning tags in thread titles.

XSG will hold an Activity/Interest Check at the beginning of every other month. Participation isn’t iron-clad required, but encouraged to keep an eye on plot interest.

If you’re absent for several months with no absence notice posted, and admins are unable to contact you, your accounts may be set to Inactive or deleted.

If you have a plot that will impact the whole site, please run it past an admin first.

Avatars have a limit of 100x100 pixels, signatures have a width limit of 500 pixels.

Application Rules

One character per account.

All sections except for “Weaknesses” have a 200 word minimum. “Weaknesses” can have less. (If your character is human, or has a simple power, please contact an admin to have this waived.)

Please post your RP sample as a second post under your application.

There is no word minimum for RP samples, but please include something that shows your character’s personality and how their powers would work in a thread.

WIP applications that have not been accessed in over a month will be moved to Archives and the account deleted. If you return and wish to continue, please contact an admin and we’ll be glad to recover it for you.

While we acknowledge the greater Marvel universe in XSG, we encourage you to stick with X-Men/mutant-related characters.
